Phil-Tone West Coast Alto
This piece was created in the spirit of the Cool West Coast Jazz Scene. It begins with the standard Phil-Tone Alto blank. From there it undergoes a number of changes. It involves additional chamber work, a custom facing length, and minimal baffle. It produces a dry, clean and lively tone leaning very much towards a Desmond like tone. It also fits very well for "legit work". Despite the lack of a substantial baffle the piece blows very comfortably. It presents a very full and spirited tone throughout the range.
